Oase Hel-X 13 is an advanced biological media meticulously designed for ProfiClear Filters. This Hel-X biomedia has been redeveloped by Oase engineers to significantly increase its biological settlement surface area by an additional 13%, hence its name, Hel-X 13. Hel-X 13 consists of small, individual biomechanical plastic casings that allow beneficial aerobic bacteria to settle and breed within their unique shape. This helps to biologically break down soluble waste, which is then efficiently filtered out within the Oase ProfiClear Premium Moving Bed Filter Modules. Thanks to its increased surface area, this biomedia allows a greater amount of bacteria to be contained within the same filter volume. This results in a more rapid breakdown of food and fish waste in the system, promoting healthier and cleaner pond water. The Hel-X 13 boasts an impressive total surface area of 955m²/m³ (compared to 859m²/m³ of the older Hel-X) and a protected surface area of 806m²/m³ (up from 704m²/m³ of the older media). Just 25 litres of Hel-X 13 can efficiently reduce 170g of food and waste in a single day. While the Hel-X 13 is primarily designed for Oase Pond Filters and Modules, it can also be effectively used in Vortex-based filters to significantly increase their biological capacity.
