The microwave kiln is an innovative high-temperature oven designed for glass melting and softening, widely popular across Europe and the United States. It can reach temperatures up to 900°C (1650 °F) during operation. In just about 5 minutes of heating, small pieces of glass will soften and complete the reprocessing cycle. This kiln is celebrated for being compact, safe, convenient, energy-saving, environmentally friendly, and highly efficient. It’s an excellent tool for crafting DIY glass jewelry, allowing you to fuse glass in your microwave to create beautiful pendants, earrings, and more. Perfect for fusing jewelry pieces or embellishments in as little as a few minutes, you can make stunning fused glass pendants, bracelets, earrings, and home décor items by simply layering, embellishing, and fusing glass together.
Important Notices Before Use:
1. The microwave kiln must be padded with kiln paper; otherwise, the glass will stick to the kiln tray. New kiln paper should be used for each firing.
2. If the microwave kiln is wet, the kiln paper will turn black and yellow instead of remaining white. Ensure the microwave kiln is stored in a moisture-proof environment.
3. Do not place a hot microwave kiln directly on a microwave oven, wood surfaces, or plastic surfaces for cooling.
4. Avoid opening the microwave kiln while it is cooling. Introducing cold air into the high-heat environment of the kiln can cause damage.
Instructions for Use:
1. Use a larger-sized microwave oven; a microwave with at least 1000 watts is recommended for optimal results.
2. Ensure the glass pieces and kiln tray are clean and ready.
3. Cut kiln paper larger than your glass pieces and place it on top of the kiln tray.
4. Place the kiln tray into the microwave oven. Cover the kiln with its lid and set the microwave temperature to “HIGH,” heating for approximately 6-8 minutes.
5. The hole in the top will glow orange when the kiln reaches fusing temperatures.
6. Once firing is complete, carefully remove the kiln using insulated gloves and place it on a kiln shelf to cool for about 30 minutes.
